- How do apply to be a Police Officer?
Being we are civil service all applications are processed by the New Jersey Department of Personnel. Each applicant must pass the State Law Enforcement Exam. The exam is given every other year. Please contact the New Jersey Department of Personnel - Law Enforcement for further information on applications and exams. When available, exam applications can also be obtained at the Borough Clerk's Office.

- What is "Civil Service"?
This means that all our Personnel transactions are mandated by rules set forth by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission. The purpose of these rules is to establish a personnel system that provides a fair balance between managerial needs and employee protections for the effective delivery of public services consistent with Title 11A, New Jersey Statutes.
